Pumpkin Countdown
Pumpkin Countdown by Joan Holub, illustrated by Jan Smith
I really liked this counting book. The book counts down from the number twenty while it describes different things that the students of a class are seeing or doing on a field trip to a pumpkin patch with a petting zoo.The books makes the reader guess what is coming next and motivates the reader to keep reading. the colorful images are great and provide much detail. The way the illustrations are in the book create a sense that the reader is actually there with the class seeing what the are seeing. I love this creative counting book as it is more a book for children in grades Kindergarten and first grade. This book can teach numbers, sequencing, as well as encourage creativity in guessing what will happen next, I highly suggest this book for young children.
